This is how making a manufacturing documentation looks like :Ĭase: You have a Sheet metal thingy in your design it is a part of something bigger. And it will occure many times, every single save between cloud and you computer and somewhere in Indonesia some calculator catches fire.
You will have to save file to the cloud, it will be converter somewhere in Indonesia, which is not on your 8k$ super duper fast computer. The proper way to load file is to load it from Fusion file explorer. But ok it started, now you throw the dice beacuse you have 50/50 chance that file will not load properly. If you will click on a file in windows explorer, every time new Fusion will start, not another Card < no no that would be to easy. Now what you have to do is find a model of o your case and run Fusion. Ok ok we have our model we did little clicking and crying, punched the wall few times, but its ok. If you ever done that you will know what im saying. If you want to change it first go and pray for like 30 minutes because you will spend 6 hours importing and exporting models from program to program back and forth with no reason. not so much only 30% of Devices have their 3D model, so you see mostly blask flat squares. So there you are you exported your PCb and you see. There are some tools but are like chopping onion with "axe". And we are not stopping here, when you export it, there is no way to change PCB outline from 3D editor. For no reason on random day you cannot export your design te see 3d outline. Very irritating is integration with Fusion that sometimes is offline. My regular contract takes 3 to 6 months and this time will have to createģ.Create case ( milling and stuff) or sheet metal stuffĤ.Create documentation for manufacturing.Īnd now Eagle is so so but i can draw a lot in it. So coming back to Fusion, i also have SolidEdge for heavy lifting. I dont say that Altium is better, it just has more features. I bought this software because of Eagle that is like middle class PCB design software missing a lot lot lot of features.
My company creates custom integrated IoT solutions and some automation. To describe why i use this software i will explain what i do for living. Well overall it is really lightweight application, not the fastest around but still, has a lot of tools that other packages dont.
